DWADE homecoming

That's right after starting that wets coast trip with 2 straight loses the Bulls rebounded to win 5 straight on the road to then return home and lose 1 at home and 2 on the road leading up to Saturday's matchup with DWade and the Miami Heat at the UC.

The Bulls get a look at another potential free agent target in back to back night with Joe Johnson Friday night in Atlanta and hometown kid DWade last night.

Coming into the game Joakim Noah remains out resting his foot but the Bulls got even more short handed with the suspension of Tyrus Thomas before tip-off. This marks Thomas' second suspension this year for breaking team rules. I'm pretty sure we are seeing the last few days of Tyrus here in Chicago, trade deadline 11 days away.

Ok but back to the game. For the most part the game was very back and forth, one team would get a 6 point lead then the other team would come right back and then get a lead and so on. With all the back and forth they entered the 4th tied. Bulls got a great effort from Rose and Deng with 24 and 25 points respectively. In a surprise move the Heat did not put their best defender Wade on Derrick Rose at the end of the game like most teams have been doing to force the ball out of his hand.

Bulls had 16 more free throw attempts in this game which is shocking.

Chris Richard getting his first action since rejoining the team played 20 minutes and grabbed 7 boards and scored 2 points while blocking a couple shots filling in nicely for the missing Noah and Thomas.

But besides a big win against a team they are competing with for a playoff spot was the effect this may have on the offseason. After the game Wade said that the Heat's effort is lagging and that they are too predictable, "We have to find a way to mix it up". "Everyone knows exactly what we are going to do." The lose dropped the Heat to 8th in the East and 3 games under 500 and actually tied with the 9th place team Milwaukee. The win has the Bulls with a 24-25 record and 6th in the East a full game ahead of the Heat and tied with the Bobcats. The Heat are 3-7 in their last 10.

If I was DWade I would have been looking across the court last night at the end of the game daydreaming about what next season may bring perhaps playing along side DRose making up an all Chicago backcourt for their home town team. If the season continues the way it is that dream may become reality.
